Leica Geosystems has extended its range of rugged construction lasers with the new Leica Rugby 260SG, 270SG and 280DG series of mid-range general construction lasers that can be used for flat, single or dual grade, and even interior applications (Rugby 280DG).

The Leica Rugby 260SG, 270SG and 280DG lasers for the general construction market offer contractors a choice of features and functionalities for virtually any application from simple flatwork, to complex dual grades and vertical control, according to the manufacturer.

Each laser is equipped with a large LCD display, an easy-to-use key pad and a two-year knockdown warranty.

“Choice is what it is all about today. Having the right product for the job is crucial for contractors to maximize their ROI,” said Dan Dykhuis, director of construction product marketing for Leica Geosystems. “Contractors do not want to settle for a product that doesn’t quite meet their needs, nor do they want to spend extra money for features they will never use.

“In the past, contractors who primarily required a flat plane laser, with the occasional need for grade, often settled for flat plane lasers that required manual calculations because digital grade lasers were too expensive,” said Dykhuis. “The new Rugby 260SG addresses that need by featuring up to 10 percent digital grade in a semi-automatic mode, while the 270SG and 280DG are fully automatic for precision grades.”

Leica Rugby 260SG — Self-Leveling Horizontal Laser With Semi-Automatic Single Grade

The Rugby 260SG combines all of the features of the Rugby flat plane lasers, plus up to 10 percent semi-automatic single grade with digital readout making it useful for most general construction applications. It features a rugged housing, large LCD with intuitive feature icons for ease of use, and a visible red beam laser with a working range of up to 2,000 ft. (600 m) in diameter.

Leica Rugby 270SG — A Fully Automatic, Single Grade Laser

The Rugby 270SG is based on the same platform as the Rugby 260SG, but also features fully automatic leveling even at grade, head speed control, beam masking, and an extended working range of up to 2,350 ft. (700 m) in diameter.

Leica Rugby 280DG — Horizontal, Vertical Dual Grade Laser for Any Exterior and Interior Application

The Rugby 280DG is a multipurpose laser with fully automatic, dual grade capability. Its additional features include a bright red beam, plumb beam, scan mode, horizontal and vertical self-leveling, and dual grade capability up to 15 percent in both axes. A full function two-way remote control is standard with Rugby 280DG packages.

All Rugby models are built with Leica Geosystems’ Swiss Technology to withstand harsh construction environments. The new Rugby lasers are backed with a two-year plus knockdown warranty and a factory warranty that can be extended up to five years.
