Mathews Machinery in Calif. has merged its operations with those of Volvo’s company-owned dealership, Volvo Construction Equipment & Services (VCES). Previously, VCES and Mathews each had a facility located in the San Diego area.

Mathews Machinery Inc. will continue to serve these markets under the VCES name.

VCES has moved from its old locations into a larger, facility outside of San Diego at 12345 Maplevew St. in Lakeside, Calif.

The two Volvo dealers have come together to better serve their customers in California by increasing the strength of their distribution and leveraging the customer service that both companies have always offered.

VCES’s new location will allow it to enhance the service it provides its customers by providing:

• Larger branch (the combined square footage is now doubled to 25,000 sq. ft.)

• Easier access to the branch (located directly off the 67 freeway)

• An indoor showroom to fully display the features and benefits of equipment

• Fully-stocked inventory to provide the customer with a one-stop shop

• More service trucks

• Bigger parts, sales and service staff

The new branch location fully is operational to fulfill sales, rentals, parts, and service needs.

There will now be eight strategically placed VCES branches across the state of California: Los Angeles, San Diego, the San Francisco bay area, Fresno, Livermore, Bakersfield, Corona and Sacramento.

Phillip Ransom, branch manager for VCES in San Diego, said he is excited about Mathews becoming part of the VCES family and the move into the new Lakeside facility.

“In my four years with Mathews, I have been proud of the high level of customer service that we’ve provided to our customers,” Ransome said. “By teaming up with VCES, we will be able to offer our customers more service coverage and a deeper product offering. Their philosophy of treating every customer to a unique customer experience fits great with ours. The larger new facility in Lakeside shows our customers that we are committed to taking care of them for the long haul.”
