Jeff Hargarten, president of NorAm, recently announced the company's purchase of Premier Performance Inc., a Richfield, Wisc.,-based supplier of go kart clutch, go kart parts, and other power transfer components.

"The integration of Premier Performance under the NorAm corporate umbrella illustrates our ongoing commitment to broaden the spectrum of products and services we provide to our customers in the kart racing market segment," Hargarten said.

As a result of this strategic acquisition, NorAm will enhance its single source supplier capabilities and expand its customer base by adding custom machined and stamped sprockets, wheel hubs and sprocket carriers, as well as three additional kart racing clutches, to the company's lineup of components. Included in the mix is Premier's Titan clutch, which has been tested, approved and chosen by Briggs & Stratton for its World Formula engine.

Additionally, NorAm has already formed partnerships with many Premier distributors that will continue to actively carry the Premier line.
