Cashman Equipment Company, Nevada’s exclusive Caterpillar dealership, finished 2001 at the top of the dirt pile. With approximately one-third of the Nevada market, the company was named tops in skid steer loaders sales among all North American Caterpillar Dealerships (NACD).
“This is an incredible achievement for our dealership, with double the market share we had in 2000,” said Dave Damboise, rental and compact equipment manager. “Throughout 2001, Cashman Rental placed nearly 100 pieces of compact construction equipment in Nevada and northern California.”
Damboise said one of Cashman Rental’s signature sales techniques was a commitment to demonstrating the equipment’s capabilities on job sites. Because Caterpillar only recently introduced compact construction equipment in 2000, many customers were unaware of its benefits.
“Customers throughout Nevada found Cat skid steer loaders to be comfortable, fun and easy to operate,” said Damboise. “We received positive feedback that the equipment is efficient and very reliable. In fact, most of our skid steer customers have experienced no down time at all with the machines.”
Cashman Equipment’s skid steer sales have actually exceeded Caterpillar’s nationwide average, garnering double the average market share of Cat dealerships in the United States.
“Cashman Equipment made unprecedented strides in their compact construction equipment sales in 2001,” said Andrew Ryan, district representative for Caterpillar Inc. “They really separated themselves from the crowd in terms of performance by a thorough and hard-working effort.”
In addition to sales of Cat compact construction equipment, the company has approximately 800 items available for rent in its general construction, compact construction and electric power generation lines. “Our extensive rental fleet is valued at approximately $86 million,” said Damboise.
Cashman Equipment provides new and used equipment for sale and rental as well as high-quality engine parts and service to the construction, paving, mining, logging, truck engine and power systems industries.
The company, which has been serving Nevada since 1931, operates throughout Nevada and northern California. Locations include Las Vegas, Reno, Elko, Winnemucca and Round Mountain in Nevada and Susanville and Mammoth Lakes in California.
