Schlouch Incorporated, site design and site construction specialists serving Eastern Pennsylvania, has signed a partnership agreement with the Occupational Health and Safety Association (OSHA) and the Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC). Schlouch is one of only eight companies in the OSHA/ABC Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter Strategic Partnership.
Schlouch was eligible for the partnership because it attained a Gold Level of achievement in ABC’s Safety Training and Evaluation Program (STEP).
Participating in the signing of the partnership were Barry and Deb Schlouch, co-founders of the company, key Schlouch team members, Jean G. Kulp, area director of OSHA, Michael Gibson, president of the Eastern Pennsylvania Chapter of ABC and Scott G Shimandle, compliance assistance specialist of OSHA.
“Safety is the number one priority at Schlouch,” Barry Schlouch, president, told those attending the signing.
“We plan to take full advantage of the input from OSHA and ABC that this partnership affords us and we will contribute in any way we can to the partnership’s goal of improving workplace safety.”
The three-year partnership agreement places Schlouch on the OSHA/ABC Committee to review strengths and weaknesses for each participant and makes OSHA and ABC mentoring at Schlouch facilities available to the company.
Recently OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist Scott G. Shimandle met with a group of company employees at the Lehigh Valley Hospital job site to explain the significance of this partnership and how Schlouch’s participation will help OSHA in assessing safety hazards in the site construction industry.
