PC Construction announced the completion of a comprehensive facility expansion for Weidmann Electrical Technology at its St. Johnsbury, Vt., campus.

The expansion, encompassing a new 10,000-sq.-ft. warehouse, significant equipment upgrades and a 25,000-sq.-ft. addition to the Fabrication North building, was completed in 17 months, a remarkable achievement for a project of its complexity and scale. The milestone was celebrated at a grand opening event on May 27, 2026.

Weidmann is among the world's largest producers of high-grade insulation materials used in electrical transformers. The $45 million project allows Weidmann to increase manufacturing capacity and is estimated to add approximately 67 new jobs at the St. Johnsbury facility. It also marks the latest chapter in a long-standing relationship, as PC Construction completed an addition to the same facility nearly 15 years ago, making this expansion a testament to the trust built over more than a decade of partnership.

"This milestone could not have happened without all the hard work and dedication everyone placed on this portion of the project," said Bernie Brochu, manager of engineering & maintenance of Weidmann. "We capitalized on every opportunity to beat the schedule, and it made a significant impact. The collaboration we all shared is by far some of the best I have seen in the many years of working on projects."

"What made this project exceptional wasn't just the technical complexity of constructing within and around a live manufacturing environment, it was the level of trust and coordination Weidmann brought to the table from day one," said Matt Cooke, president/CEO of PC Construction. "We're proud to have supported their growth once again, and to have delivered a facility that's ready to power their next chapter."
