Capping off a series of open houses at all four metro-Atlanta locations, Perimeter Bobcat recently held its fourth and final 2003 two-day open house and skid steer rodeo at its new Lake City, GA, location.

The open house served as a grand opening ceremony for the new Lake City facility, which is located at 1637 Forest Parkway. It replaces the old Conley, GA, location on the south side of Atlanta.

The 27,000-sq.-ft. building was designed to be a model for all future Bobcat full-service facilities. Situated on 13.8 acres, the facility includes a large demo area for machine instruction and testing. This location, as well as all Perimeter locations, serves as a full-service support center for its sister company, Ingersoll-Rand of Atlanta. The facility has the feel of a modern car dealership with a spacious showroom, ample parts storage and more than 15,000-sq.-ft. of service space including 10 drive-through service bays.

“This facility is designed to enhance the customer experience,” said Branch Manager Brad Redding.

Perimeter Bobcat has four metro Atlanta locations in Norcross, Marietta, Gainesville and Lake City.

Manufacturer representatives from various states attended the event to get a glimpse of what Bobcat facilities will have to offer as well as to lend their support for the opening of this location.

Willie Oswalt, Lake City mayor; several Lake City councilmen and politicians; Clayton County Chamber of Commerce representatives; and facility designers and builders also attended the event.

Perimeter Bobcat and Ingersoll-Rand of Atlanta personnel promoted product and service offerings and lent their help to make the event an enjoyable experience for those attending. Customers and guests representing more than 150 different companies also showed up for the celebration.

Adding to the great food, door prizes, parts discounts, special pricing on equipment and equipment demos, Perimeter brought in live bobcats to celebrate the Lake City opening.

The final round of Perimeter’s skid steer loader rodeo rounded out two day’s worth of events. The winning time was achieved by Ron Goss, Complete Concrete Construction, Conyers, GA, who completed the course in one minute 33 seconds. He was rewarded for his outstanding efforts with a brand new set of Loegering tracks.

Skid steer rodeo contestants from each of the four Perimeter Bobcat open houses held this year were qualified to be in a drawing for an MT50 mini track loader, which was presented at the end of the open house. Michael Cox, Brown and Cox Well Drilling, Covington, GA, walked away with the machine.
