Precision Laser & Instrument Inc. continues its growth in Ohio with a new store in Akron. The addition brings the total to four locations covering western Pennsylvania, eastern Ohio and parts of West Virginia.

According to Precision Laser & Instrument Inc.’s Survey Manager and Partner, Rob Barth, the company’s move into the Akron store was designed to provide local sales, service and rentals for existing Spectra Precision Laser & Trimble customers while building their customer base in a strong market.

Founded in 1990, the primary focus of the company was the repair of construction lasers. Continual expansion over the years resulted in meeting customers’ needs. Its staff made up of 45 individuals, now includes personnel in laser, optical, GPS, robotic and machine control which supports customers through sales, service and technical support.

Mike Painter, construction sales and support person, has a civil engineering and a surveying degree and with 10 years in the industry has been with Precision Laser & Instrument for the past year.

Nathan Turner moved from Precision Laser & Instrument’s Ambridge Office in the Pittsburgh area to service customers in the northeastern Ohio market.

Turner has been trained on Spectra Precision products.

Precision Laser & Instrument has strong ties with the major local construction dealers in the area including Ohio CAT and Nortrax.

From the Akron location, Turner and Painter will serve Cleveland, Akron, Canton, east to Youngstown, west to Lorain County and south to Mansfield.

While the Akron Store has been stocked with service parts and new laser and GPS equipment since early December, the company has yet to hold an official Grand Opening. Precision Laser & Instrument plans to host an open house this Spring.
