Global Asphalt Products Inc.’s Pro-Pav Series 880WB offers contractors a productive paver with the features of highway-class machines and is designed for large commercial-class jobs. It follows the 780WB in offering the reliability and mat quality of the highway-class pavers, but is a larger machine overall.
The 880WB has a large numbers of parts in common with the larger pavers and features operator controls that are standard across the Pro-Pav line, including the sliding console and fingertip control of all machine functions. Various screed and feeder controls can be accessed in a number of locations on the machine to provide versatility in commercial paving applications.
A Cummins 6BT5.9 diesel engine provides 152 hp (113.3 kW) with four speed ranges and a top speed of 12 mph (19.3 kmh). The Pro-Pav Series portal-axle drive provides true differential steering and the option of differential lock or modulated steer-assist pedals for better traction and handling. Its hopper capacity is 190 cu. ft. (5.4 cu m) and its overall length is 19 ft. 4 in. (5.9 m) with enhanced operator visibility. The Pro-Pav Series’ fumes extraction system provides a comfortable environment for the operator and screed operators without inhibiting the view of augers and the head of material while paving.
The 880WB is designed for productivity as well as a high mat quality and utilizes a fully-proportional feeder system. Ultrasonic material-level sensors are standard for precise control. Augers are hydraulically adjustable from 5 to 10 in. (12.7 to 25.4 cm) above the ground.
Three screeds are available for the unit. The ES 814 screed provides a standard paving width of 8- to 14-ft. (2.4 to 4.3 m) with a maximum paving width of 17 ft. (5.2 m). The FS 80 W/EZII offers a standard paving width of 8 ft. to 13 ft. 6 in. (2.4 to 4.1 m) with a maximum width of 16 ft. (4.9 m). A Carlson EZ-IV-815 screed has a standard paving width of 8 to 15 ft. (2.4 to 4.6 m) with a maximum paving width of 17 ft. (5.2 m).
A wide variety of extensions are available for the various screeds to enhance versatility for particular paving operations.
