Professional Women in Construction Receives Advocacy Award

- National Edition

On May 3, Professional Women in Construction (PWC) received an Advocacy Award from Anchin at the accounting firm’s 2012 Annual Awards Presentation, “Building the Future,” recognizing the fastest growing MWBEs in architecture, engineering and construction and the corporations and nonprofit organizations that support them.

Phillip Ross, CPA with Anchin’s Construction Services Group and co-chair of the event, noted that “Public projects with MWBE participation are an important and growing part of the industry.”

Terry Pissi, CPA with Anchin’s Construction Services Group, presented the Advocacy Award to PWC President Lenore Janis saying that the organization has “done much to promote women in construction.” She congratulated PWC on its 32nd anniversary, adding that “we recognize that more still must be done.”

Janis thanked Anchin for “recognizing the accomplishments of woman and minority-owned companies and the progress that advocates, such as PWC, have made to encourage newcomers to the construction industry.”
