Rasmussen Equipment is taking the lead in introducing Utah to the new generation of purpose-built material handling machines from Sennebogen.

Constantino Lannes, president of Sennebogen North America, announced that the dealer has been appointed as the newest addition to the growing distributor network for Sennebogen’s green line machines.

From its headquarters in Salt Lake City, UT, and another full-service facility in the south of the state, Rasmussen will represent Sennebogen products throughout Utah and in adjacent areas of Wyoming, Idaho and Nevada.

Rasmussen Equipment was established in 1947 by Frank Rasmussen as a cable and rigging specialist serving nearby mining operations.

Since then, the company has evolved into a “one stop” equipment supplier representing one of the most extensive ranges of equipment lines in the region. The firm grew into heavy equipment with cable-driven shovels and cranes, then expanded its offering with additional lines of construction, utility and paving equipment.

Today, the company is managed by the sons of Frank Rasmussen, Dick and Bob, and is the regional distributor for Kawasaki, Bomag, Link-Belt and Kobelco.

According to Rasmussen Sales Manager Randy Gallegos, this new agreement came through a long-standing association with Sennebogen representative Ken Cornett.

“We’ve known Ken for a long time through his work with other equipment,” Gallegos explained. “So when he recommended that we should take a look at Sennebogen, we took him at his word.”

After a meeting with Cornett and Constantino Lannes, the two companies quickly came to agreement.

“Then Ken came with us to meet a customer, Metro Group, which led to our first Sennebogen sale,” said Gallegos.

Metro Group’s varied operations include a scrap metals recycling facility in Salt Lake City. Based on a recommendation by Rasmussen sales representative Gary Rasmussen, the company was interested in the combination of Sennebogen material handlers supported by the Rasmussen service team.

Staff from Metro Group were able to inspect the Sennebogen machines on display at the recent ISRI conference in Las Vegas. Seeing the machine first-hand led to the company’s decision to purchase an 825 M, a new 63,300 lb. rubber-tired machine.
