RECO Equipment of Columbus Ohio recently sponsored a pig roast for Ohio Mulch at its National Headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.

Approximately 75 people attended the event, including Ohio Mulch corporate office employees and Ohio Mulch Columbus manufacturing facility employees. Organized by Rob Barnett and Diane Bakenhester of Columbus, Ohio, several Ohio Mulch suppliers were also on hand including Ohio Territory Manager of Wells Fargo Equipment Finance Kevin Watkins, Rusty and Lori McQuirt of Rusty’s Towing, Andy Lock of Rockland Buckets, and Brandon and Daryl Moore of Triple S Tires.

Attendees were treated to a pig roast and provided T-shirts sporting the phrase “I went Hoggin’ Ohio Mulch Style.”

Kawasaki co-hosted the event with Vice President General Manager Gary Bell, Regional Sales Manager Hank Ottman, Marketing Administrator Sam Shelton, and District Product Support Manager Mike Dixon in attendance. Ohio Mulch operates Kawasaki wheel loaders in several of its facilities in Ohio and Georgia.

Ohio Mulch Supply Inc. is a national, full-service landscape supply company with several retail outlets, harvesting and processing yards in Kentucky, Ohio and Georgia.

Jim Weber, owner and CEO of Ohio Mulch Supply, originally began using Kawasaki wheel loaders with the purchase of a 65ZV several years ago. His crew immediately liked it.

“After we began using it, the difference in maintenance costs proved Kawasaki was the better machine,” said Weber. “So we bought another 65. By then the guys in the yard had enough time to compare fuel consumption and we were all very happy with the number.”

Soon after, Weber purchased his first Kawasaki 95ZV. It was an easy decision to make, as it was based on the reliability and performance of the smaller machines and the excellent support from RECO Equipment.
