Reco Equipment Inc. held an open house event May 20 at its facility in Columbus, Ohio. According to Reco Sales Representative Rob Barnett, the event was a way to show appreciation to loyal customers while showcasing the company’s lineup of equipment for scrap processing, coal mining, construction, excavating and industrial use.

Josh Gasber, Reco vice president of product support and administration, said Reco’s strength is a combination of the right equipment backed by sales and service personnel dedicated to serving the customer base.

The branch at 4250 Perimeter Drive, Columbus, Ohio, has been at its current location since 1986 and employs a staff of 10, with five trucks available for dispatch. Reco Equipment is the authorized dealer location for Kawasaki, Allied Construction Products, Dressta, Liebherr, Link-Belt Excavators (LBX), and Terex Haul Trucks serving Ohio from its five stores within the state. Overall, the company has 10 locations in Ohio, Indiana, Michigan and Pennsylvania, and employs more than 100 people.

Along with a chance to see equipment up close, customers were served a lunch of barbecued pork, chicken wings and beans.

As a special treat, former Ohio State Buckeyes assistant coach Bill Conley was on hand to greet and mingle with attendees. Reco Equipment Inc. founder and former President Bob Hathaway, and his wife Joyce, also stopped by to catch up with customers and Reco employees.

Headquartered in Morristown, Ohio, and founded in 1983, Reco Equipment Inc. ownership of the company recently changed hands to long time employees Paul D. Ditullio, vice president and general manager of Bobcat of Pittsburgh, Joshua A. Gasber, vice president of product support and administration, and Reed B. Mahany, vice president of sales.
