James L. Craft, president of James Craft & Son Inc., York Haven, PA, received the 2000 President’s Award as Keystone Chapter’s Person of the Year. The award was presented during the annual banquet celebration of the Keystone Chapter of Associated Builders & Contractors Inc. (ABC).
The award was announced by 2000 President G. David Sload who applauded Craft’s timeless dedication and loyalty to this organization. “Time and time again, he has shown his dependability in all aspects of this chapter. He is committed to serving every area of ABC. If you need him, he will be there,” said Sload.
Craft has volunteered his time above and beyond the call of duty for this organization since becoming a member. He has served on numerous committees and task forces throughout the years, on the both the national and local levels. He served as the chairperson of the Apprenticeship Task Force in 2000 and currently serves on the Image/Marketing Task Force.
Craft also has held the position of treasurer since 1999. With his help, the chapter’s financial health and well being has always been taken care of. When it comes to sponsoring new members, Craft has done more than his part. Over the years, he has been successful in sponsoring 87 new members to the chapter.
He also has helped at many of the chapter functions, including running the food trailer every year at the ABC Building Wishes Construction Rodeo, which benefits the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Craft has served on the chapter’s board of directors since 1989 and served as chapter president in 1995.
Keystone Chapter, Associated Builders & Contractors Inc., operating out of Rapho Business Park, Manheim, PA, represents more than 700 construction-related firms involved in commercial, industrial, and institutional merit shop construction throughout south central Pennsylvania.
