The San Diego Food Bank presented Hawthorne CAT with the 2012 Holiday Food Drive Corporate Sponsor Award at its annual sponsor luncheon.
Hawthorne CAT teamed with the Jacobs & Cushman San Diego Food Bank and San Diego State University Athletics to collect more than 2,214 lbs. of food for the San Diego community during the fall of 2012. The Hawthorne CAT corporate food drive provided more than 1,730 nutritious meals to San Diego families in need.
“We are honored to accept this award on behalf of our customers, employees and the greater San Diego community. Without their support, we would not have been able to score a touchdown for the San Diego Food Bank.” said Hawthorne CAT’s Vice-President of Sales and Marketing, David Ness.
Steve Dunn, corporate marketing director, continued “We want to encourage the community to continue to support the food bank. The need for food items never goes away. You can continue to make donations at any one of the San Diego Food Bank locations.”
The official food donation ceremony was held on Nov. 15, 2012 at Hawthorne’s corporate headquarters. It was featured on Good Morning San Diego show on KUSI Channel.
