Construction Equipment Guide

With the help of Patten Industries Inc., S&K Excavating of Yorkville, Ill., was recently able to handle a paving project at the Oswego West High School with efficiency. S&K Excavating brought in 15 employees for the job and used more than nine different pieces of Cat equipment, including the latest additions to its fleet: a 329E excavator and a 336E excavator.

S&K Excavating put the equipment to use, redoing the parking lots for buses, staff and student in less than a week.

The company has been loyal customers of Patten Industries Inc. since 1989 and currently owns 14 pieces of Cat equipment with two more excavators on the way.

In 2007, S&K Excavating helped build four schools in the Oswego School District, including clearing and prep work for each site, digging foundations, installing sewers, water and storm piping, and repairing parking lots and sidewalk.

The company enjoys working on these types of projects because “it’s a great way to give back to their community and provide safety and functionality for the Oswego school children.”
