“After three successful years in the U.S. market, Karl Schaeff & Co. GmbH of Langenburg, Germany, has decided to form a U.S. headquarters. The new company name will be Schaeff of North America Inc., and will be based in Dallas, Texas,” announced Constantino Lannes, export sales manager. “Sales of our mini excavators and compact wheel loaders are steadily increasing and we believe a dedicated staff will enable us to increase support to our North American dealers.”

Gilbert D. Herr will serve as president, with Tom Skodack, vice president, handling the line of Fuchs scrap handlers which also are manufactured by the company. The new 30,000 square foot office/warehouse and equipment yard opened on Feb. 1, 2000.

The company plans on marketing its line to construction, scrap and recycling, landscape and agricultural industries, as well as governmental agencies.
