A mild winter and early spring gave Schlouch Incorporated an opportunity to tackle many projects that were backlogged well into 2012. SI teams were active in eight counties including one in Maryland with projects that covered the range of markets from residential, to commercial, industrial, energy and health care. Here are the highlights of current activities.
Berks County
BET Investments has selected Schlouch Incorporated to provide 5,000 sq. yds. of paving and a large underground infiltration basin for Kutztown parking lot expansion on College Boulevard, Kutztown, Berks County, Pa. The institutional project is for student housing parking. Schlouch is providing survey, stakeout, earthwork, storm sewers, sediment/erosion control, roads, concrete, curbs, paving, seeding and line striping. Work was to be completed in spring 2012.
Chester County
Sadsbury Commons, LP has chosen Schlouch Incorporated to prepare a 62-acre site for a medical office development at Routes 10 and 30 in Sadsbury Township, Chester County, Pa. Schlouch is providing clearing, grubbing, survey, stakeout, rock removal, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, sediment/erosion control, roads, building pads, curbs, paving, landscaping, seeding and construction of a retaining wall. Work will be completed by spring 2013.
Howard County, Maryland
Gerard Construction Corp. has named Schlouch Incorporated to prepare a 19-acre site for a Walmart in Ellicott City, Howard County, Maryland. Schlouch is providing earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, sediment/erosion control and paving. Work will be completed by fall 2012.
Lebanon County
Lickdale Associates L.P. and Vision Properties L.L.C. has selected Schlouch Incorporated to prepare the site for two commercial warehouse buildings, one 1 million sq. ft. and the second 500,000 sq. ft. The 103.75-acre site, Logistics Park, is located north of Bordnersville Road, west of Route 72 and east of I-81 in Union Township, Lebanon County, Pa. Schlouch is providing clearing, grubbing, survey, stakeout, demolition, blasting, rock removal, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, sediment/erosion control, roads, building pads, curbs, paving, landscaping and seeding. In addition Schlouch is providing a main connector road of approximately 1 mi. in length for the site. Work will be completed by December 2012.
Lehigh County
Carlson Brothers Inc. has named Schlouch Incorporated to prepare a 40.5-acre site on MacArthur Road, Whitehall Township, for a new Walmart Supercenter. Schlouch is providing survey, stakeout, demolition, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, sediment/erosion control, roads, concrete, curbs and paving. Work will be completed by fall 2012.
Wegmans Food Markets, Inc. has picked Schlouch Incorporated to prepare a 17-acre site for additions to an existing store and modifications to the parking lot. The site is located at 3900 Tilghman St., city of Allentown, Lehigh County, Pa. Schlouch is providing survey, stakeout, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, sediment/erosion control, building pad, curbs and paving. Work will be completed by March 2013.
Trexler Fields Twin Home Project L.L.C. has chosen Schlouch Incorporated to prepare the site for 15 twin homes and three single-family homes on Trexler Road, Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, Pa. Kay Builders is developing the project. Schlouch is providing survey, stakeout, sediment/erosion control, earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, roads, paving and seeding. The project also includes the completion of Schaeffer Run Road. Work will be completed by fall 2012.
Allied Building Corporation has named Schlouch Incorporated to provide concrete work for Hamilton Court, South Whitehall Township, Allentown, Pa. KNK Associates is developing the site. Schlouch is providing concrete building footers, walls, piers and slabs. Work will be completed by fall 2012.
Luzerne County
Sand Springs Development Corp. has selected Schlouch Incorporated to prepare a residential site for Sand Springs Phase 4 being developed by Tuskes Homes in Butler Township, Luzerne County. The site will feature 10 single family homes and 36 townhouses. Schlouch is providing earthwork, sanitary and storm sewers, water line installation, sediment/erosion control, roads, paving and seeding. Work will be completed by summer 2012.
Northampton County
EDC, Inc. has chosen Schlouch Incorporated to provide site and concrete work for a retail addition on a one-acre site at Lower Nazareth Township, Northampton County, Pa. Schlouch is providing asphalt demolition, earthwork, storm sewer, water line installation, erosion control, grading, site concrete and paving. Schlouch will provide excavation, installation and backfill of building footers, a concrete retaining wall, concrete building slab and a concrete loading dock. Work was completed in March 2012.
Schuylkill County
Air Products named Schlouch Incorporated to provide 4,000 sq. yds. of paving with storm water improvements at its Hometown Plant in Tamaqua, Schuylkill County, Pa. Schlouch provided earthwork, storm sewers, sediment/erosion control, roads, concrete, curbs and paving. Work was completed in December 2011.
