Scott Powerline & Utility Equipment hosted a grand opening celebration Sept. 21 for its new facility in McDonough, Ga.

The day was packed with plenty to do for its customers and guests. Golf enthusiasts were treated to a golf outing at the Heron Bay Golf Club in the morning. The open house was an all-day event for guests to come by to tour the new facility, see equipment displays, meet with Scott Powerline & Utility Equipment ownership and staff and manufacturer representatives and enjoy a catered lunch. A ceremonial ribbon cutting was held and lots of giveaways were awarded. For those who enjoy an evening at the ball park, Scott Powerline & Utility Equipment hosted an outing to Turner Field to watch the Atlanta Braves.

The new facility quadruples the yard space, triples the parts space and doubles the office space of the one that opened in the area three years ago. Located off Interstate 75 on Highway 155 South, the new operation represents a $10 million investment by Scott.

Scott Powerline & Utility rents, sells, leases and services power and utility equipment and primarily deals with electrical contractors, electrical line construction and maintenance companies, as well as companies in bridgework and general construction.

“Scott Powerline & Utility Equipment is a one-stop source for customers,” said Tom Scott Jr., president and founder. “We carry a vast array of equipment and accessories and brands such as Mantis, National Crane, Elliott, Terex Reedrill, PowerTraxx, Cat, Case and Hi-Ranger.”

The new facility is 14,000 sq. ft. and has 3.5 acres of yard space, as well as two new overhead cranes in the shop.

Scott’s customers can be found across the country and around the world. It recently sold a Mantis crane to a British company building and maintaining a research station at the South Pole and sent a technician to Africa to service a piece of equipment.
