Skanska’s Flemming Promoted to Co-Chief Operating Officer

Skanska USA Building Inc. has promoted Bill Flemming to co-chief operating officer to oversee its Boston, Connecticut, New York and New Jersey operations.

Flemming was serving as corporate senior vice president of pre-construction services, responsible for the pre-construction organization. He also is credited with launching the company’s national procurement and design management initiatives. With more than 28 years of experience, 21 of which have been with Skanska, Flemming’s expertise covers cost project execution, procurement strategy and value engineering for complex projects in a wide range of industries including life sciences, healthcare, higher education, sports stadiums, government and mission critical facilities.

Flemming also is responsible for piloting Skanska’s involvement in high profile, design-build projects including the New Meadowlands Stadium and Carilion Hospital. He also has been involved in design-build projects for higher education clients among other market sectors. He has worked with such clients as Amgen, Hoffman-La Roche, Shands Cancer Hospital, Wyeth, the GSA, Duke University, AT&T, Lucent and Marriott International.
