Stage 8, a mechanical locking systems manufacturer has two new locking spindle nuts — the XN-11, which replaces the N-11 nut on 40 spline axles, and the XMT-30, a 42 mm nut that fits 1984 to 1989 Toyota 4-Runners and 1979-1989 Toyota pickup trucks.
“The X-Lock replaces the outdated and difficult to adjust dual jam-nut system,” said Robert Ahearn, general manager of Stage 8. “It is constructed out of 4130 chromoly steel and can withstand up to 250 foot-pounds of reverse torque. The 40 spline axle is an automotive axle used extensively among the automotive aftermarket especially on rock crawlers and extreme 4x4s.”

All Stage 8 X-Locks are reusable, according to the manufacturer.
