Superior Industries Inc. recently displayed its line of material shedding conveyor idlers. Known as Moxie rolls, the specially formulated material manufactured into these rolls sheds sticky material reducing maintenance and belt tracking concerns.

In addition, Moxie rolls resist rust in corrosive environments where steel idlers commonly wear out prematurely. These material producers also can upgrade to stainless steel idler shafts and frames for extra defense in corrosive conditions, according to the manufacturer.

Factory tests also revealed Moxie rolls are as much as three times quieter than steel, which can generate a constant clanking sound when contacting mechanical belt fasteners.

Moxie rolls weigh up to 45 percent less than similar size steel idlers, are available in CEMA C and D classes and are available for belt widths up to 72 in. (183 cm).
