Syracuse, N.Y.-based Empire Crane purchased a Shuttlelift CD5520 industrial crane. Empire expects to sell the crane to one of its customers. The company is so convinced that the crane will appeal to customers, it’s stocking the CD5520 in anticipation.

Luke Lonergan, vice president of Empire, said the company is excited to be one of the first to obtain the Shuttlelift CD5520, especially because of its reach and capacity.

"We always buy the latest and greatest cranes for our customers," he said. "With its 20 ton capacity and best-in-class 54 ft. 6 in. boom, we are confident that the CD5520 will sell very quickly."

The Shuttlelift CD5520 replaces the CD5560B industrial crane, while adding new technology and design features. For the first time on an industrial crane, Shuttlelift is offering two jib options: a 15 ft. (4.6 m) boom extension or a telescoping 15 to 25 ft. (4.6 to 7.6 m) swingaway boom extension.

With an overall length of 23 ft. 3 in. (7 m) and width of 7 ft. 8 in. (2.3 m), the CD5520 will fit into the tightest of work spaces. It measures only 8 ft. 2 in. (2.5 m) tall, making it ideal for indoor industrial work. It also has a completely redesigned cab with new automotive style controls and joystick controllers.

Empire Crane has been in the lifting business since 2002 and has locations in Syracuse; Boston, Mass.; and Somerville, N.J. Empire provides cranes and other lifting services for the general construction industry, including wind projects, power line distribution, bridge building and more.
