On Sept. 30, 2026, the new tram bridge over the Navile Canal in the Corticella district of Bologna was successfully lifted into place.

The company Autovictor, which specializes in heavy-duty transport and crane work, was significantly involved in the lifting work and used a Tadano CC 38.650-1 lattice boom crawler crane to position bridge with millimeter precision.

A lift of this magnitude in the heart of a densely built-up city places special demands on planning and execution. Llimited space, urban infrastructure and the traffic conditions of a bustling metropolis like Bologna require a high level of coordination and maximum precision at every stage of the project — as well as the Tadano CC 38.650-1, which is capable of handling urban conditions despite its size.

The lift itself was a textbook example of precision engineering. Although preparations took weeks, the actual lifting process and the precise positioning of the bridge structure onto the abutments took just over an hour.

Despite the complexity of the lift, everything went exactly according to plan — thanks to the meticulous planning of the Autovictor team, the professionalism of the assembly crew and crane operators, and, of course, the Tadano CC 38.650-1.
