Standard Terex Fuchs wheeled and tracked handlers and HD machines can be equipped with pylon risers to provide a better sight line into shredders and improve machine performance in a variety of applications.
Beyond standard wheeled MHL and tracked RHL Series material handler models, Terex Fuchs offers a wide array of customized machine designs to handle specific customer needs. From environmentally friendly electric and pedestal machines to heavy-duty models and pylon risers for port applications, modular upper and lower carriage construction enables these handlers to be efficiently configured to meet virtually any material handling application.
The Terex Fuchs MHL 800 Series electric material handlers use hydraulic power more efficiently and offer the benefits of zero emissions, reduced operating noise levels and lower long-term operating costs than diesel-powered machines. These material handlers feature tethered semi-mobile operation with power cable length to meet customers’ operating requirements. Optional electric cable reels with customized cable lengths reaching 164-ft. (50 m), extend the handler’s working range.
Generating little heat during operation, electric handlers are practical for operating indoors at MRFs and transfer stations. The MHL 800 Series delivers the same design features associated with standard Terex Fuchs handlers — double row slewing ring, elevating cab and wide undercarriage for impressive lift performance.
“Offering zero emissions, Terex Fuchs electric handlers allow an operation to ’go green’ and help improve sustainability,” said Steve Brezinski, heavy equipment product manager, material handlers, of Terex Construction.
To further reduce maintenance and service costs while taking advantage of zero emissions, Terex Fuchs offers stationary, pedestal-mounted AHL 800 Series material handlers. These handlers can be mounted to steel, concrete or four-point sub-bases and are modified to meet customers’ site-specific needs. Pedestal-mounted machines offer the same broad stick and boom configurations as standard handlers.
“Because of its stationary design, a pedestal machine takes planning to ensure it fits the needs of the customer,” said Brezinski. “Terex Fuchs and your local distributor offer consultation services to ensure the right stationary material handler system is designed for the job requirements.”
Through the use of an adapter ring, the upper carriage of a Terex Fuchs material handler can be matched with the undercarriage of the next model size larger machine.
“For instance, we can mount the undercarriage of an MHL380 to an MHL360 upper carriage to create a heavy-duty [HD] MHL365 handler,” added Brezinski. HD handlers can be created for the MHL340, 350 and 360 machines.
The larger undercarriage of Terex Fuchs HD machines delivers excellent stability, according to the manufacturer. This improves grabbing and material handling performance throughout the machine’s entire lifting range.
Since these HD models use standard components, regular maintenance routines remain with the added benefit of a high degree of parts commonality with standard machines.

Traditional wheeled handlers can be equipped with a 2.6-ft. (.8 m) pylon and HD machines with up to 4.6-ft. (1.4 m) risers, while XL-track undercarriage machines can accommodate pylons up to 23.0-ft. (7 m) high.
Pylon risers enable the handlers to stockpile material higher, so greater volumes of material can be stored in the same amount of space. The use of pylons is especially advantageous in portside applications for loading and unloading ships, tailoring the boom and stick working range envelope to specific jobsite conditions. Their design improves visibility and allows operators to more efficiently and effectively reach over vessels with tall sides.
