Construction Equipment Guide

The workhorse of the Terex Fuchs material handler product line, the MHL350 D provides optimal lifting capabilities, fast cycle times and a hydraulically height-adjustable cab up to an 18.4 ft. (5.6 m) maximum eye level with easily accessible operator controls and on-screen color display. The MHL350 D features a wide undercarriage design with large outrigger cylinders and wide stabilizer support beams for greater lifting capabilities and productivity, allowing the machine to move more material in the same period of time. The machine’s maximum 78,265-lb. (35,500 kg) operating weight, standard maximum reach of 52 ft. (16 m) and boom design with optimized kinematics delivers lifting capacities across the full operating range.

Designed to provide strong swing torque, the MLH350 D is quickly brought up to full turning speed for enhanced productivity. As an added benefit, the double-row slew ring design enhances machine durability and slew ring reliability. With a maximum hydraulic capacity of 169 gal./min. (640 L/min), the efficient dual-circuit hydraulic system delivers smooth, precise handling and faster working cycles to maximize profit potential. The system employs a dual hydraulic pump design with one circuit focused on stick movements and the other serving slewing along with other machine functions. This enables separate, synchronized operation while proportionally feeding the precise amounts of oil to the components in use, rather than having a single oil flow to all parts in the entire system, for lower operating costs, according to the manufacturer.

Inside the MHL350 D’s cab environment, ergonomic dual joystick controls are configured specifically for material handling operations, with operator comfort and flexibility in mind. To maximize operating efficiency, buttons are conveniently grouped on the left- and right-hand joysticks: horn, turn signals, magnet operation and slewing brake functions on the left; and the right joystick control incorporates grapple slewing and pressure boost functions, while offering the flexibility to expand with optional functions tailored to individual job-site requirements and working conditions.

Designed to enhance comfortable and productive material handling, the control panel features a push-button keypad with LED indicators for activation of machine functions. Part of the wholly integrated cab console, the newly designed keypad allows quick access to critical operating functions such as the parking brake and swing lock. A new multi-function control button has been added to the control system and can be turned to adjust engine speed or used to navigate and select display menu functions.

The MHL350 D is powered by a fuel efficient 198 hp (148 kW) 6-cylinder turbocharged and water-cooled diesel engine with direct common-rail fuel injection and emissions values meeting federal Tier III and Com III environmental standards.

The MHL350 D is available with 52 ft. (16 m), 49 ft. (15 m) or 46 ft. (14 m) maximum reach options, so the machine can be configured for a variety of applications from working inland at a recycling yard to loading and unloading barges along the river. The machine has the flexibility to accept a variety of attachments — from a grapple or magnet for handling scrap metal to a clamshell bucket for raw materials — further enhancing machine adaptability to job-site demands.

Other standard features include:

• Separate engine and hydraulic oil-cooling systems with large surface area design to maximize cooling efficiency and uptime

• Excellent cooling performance with quieter operation

• Hydrostatically driven, thermostatically controlled oil cooling fan

• Inverted mounting of hydraulic boom cylinders to minimize exposure to debris and moisture
