Terex is set to kick off its next series of King of the Dirt Demo Days in Memphis, Tenn.

The event is expected to bring in scores of contractors and dealers from all over the United States and Canada to check out changes in the Terex loader backhoe line and the rest of the Terex Construction products and services.

More than the typical manufacturer’s junket, Terex offers attendees accommodations at the historic Peabody Hotel, Memphis cuisine, an operational skills competition and a chance to operate more than two dozen pieces of construction equipment onsite. As an added attraction, participants can also take several laps in a NASCAR stock car around Memphis Motorsports Park, where the event is held.

The Terex King of the Dirt Demo Days gives customers and dealers the opportunity to see first-hand the latest product developments and hear about the company’s ongoing initiatives.

“The product changes we showcase at the Demo Days cover everything from additions to our site dumper to motorgrader lines, as well as major product upgrades to our loader backhoe and wheel loader lines,” said Dean Barley, director of product support for Terex Construction Americas. “These Demo Days illustrate our serious, long-term commitment to the North American construction equipment market.”

To kick off the Demo Days, attendees receive a presentation and live demonstration of the newly redesigned Terex line of loader backhoes. According to Lowell Stout, senior product manager for Terex Construction Americas, most Demo Days attendees use backhoes in their everyday operations and can really benefit from the enhancements Terex has made to the loader backhoe line. Additionally, the event spotlights financing options Terex has available to purchase or lease one of these machines.

“It was important to have a broad cross section of equipment available for the attendees to try,” Stout said. “We’ve seen how trying a piece of equipment can influence a purchase decision, and I suspect that will be the case again and again as these events go on.”

Fun is a key part of the King of the Dirt Demo Days equation. Several stations, including backhoe basketball and a racing-inspired ring toss competition using stock car tires, allow customers to test their backhoe operation and dexterity skills. Also, customers can participate in a NASCAR ride-along experience at the Memphis Motorsports Park track.

As a pre-qualified guest of a Terex dealer, attendees will enjoy an all-expenses-paid, King of the Dirt Demo Days experience.
