The official Road Connection Truck will be leaving its South Dakota home for nine months to travel the United States to showcase the importance of funding for better roads.
The Road Connection truck will crisscross the United States holding events at trade shows, demo days, open houses, road construction sites and equipment dealer locations to educate Americans about the need for positive change in the national transportation system. The kick-off event for The Road Connection took place at the Associated Equipment Distributors (AED) Summit and CONDEX Trade Show at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in Washington, D.C., on Jan. 18, 2012.
Curt Peterka, advertising manager of Kolberg Pioneer Inc. (KPI), of Yankton has the unique responsibility of driving the truck and spreading The Road Connection message. On his nationwide tour, Peterka will be supported by Andrew Gillman, a mobile journalist from Performance Marketing in West Des Moines, Iowa, who will provide real-time updates on dealer stops, trade shows and other notable events along the way.
KPI-JCI and Astec Mobile Screens are the primary sponsors of this initiative and will take an active role in encouraging support and sponsorship by other companies in the transportation and construction industries.
