Tractor & Equipment Co. named Steve Day vice president and general parts manager of the Birmingham-based construction equipment distribution organization.

Day worked for Komatsu America for 25 years and most recently headed Komatsu’s parts organization as vice president and parts manager. Previously, he was a Komatsu Southern regional manager, vice president and sales manager, and vice president and service manager.

“Steve Day brings a well-rounded background in all aspects of construction equipment distribution that will be extremely beneficial to our organization,” said Jim Waitzman Jr., chairman and CEO of Tractor & Equipment Company. “We are delighted to have someone of his caliber join our team.”

Day will be relocating to the Birmingham area.

Founded in 1943, Tractor & Equipment Co. is a heavy equipment distributor serving Alabama, Georgia and northwest Florida. TEC provides sales, service, rentals and parts for Komatsu and other top lines of equipment used in the construction, road-building, mining, quarrying and forestry industries.
