SALT LAKE CITY (AP) Utah highway builders will finish off the construction season by replacing a 12th highway bridge in the Salt Lake City area.

Construction started Aug. 22.

Crews slid the finished bridge into place on Interstate-215 at 3300 South.

Two other bridges were swapped on Interstate-80 at the Mountain Dell and Lamb’s Canyon interchanges.

The Utah Department of Transportation built many of the bridges or their major components offsite and moved them into place with cranes or skids greased by soap.

UDOT said it’s the largest, most aggressive bridge replacement project in the country.
