The Caterpillar D5N LGP is a low ground pressure crawler dozer designed for grading, dozing, and site preparation on soft or sensitive terrain. Built on Caterpillar's D5N platform, the LGP configuration uses wider tracks to reduce ground pressure and improve flotation in mud, sand, wetlands, and other low-bearing conditions. It is commonly used in construction, land clearing, road building, and utility work where traction and surface protection are important. The machine combines a compact dozer frame with a versatile blade system, making it suitable for finish grading, bulk earthmoving, and general earthmoving applications in confined or challenging jobsite conditions.
