The Caterpillar 973K is a crawler loader designed for material handling, loading, and site preparation in construction, quarry, and industrial applications. It combines tracked undercarriage traction with a front loader bucket for operation on soft, uneven, or muddy ground where wheeled loaders may be less effective. The 973K is commonly used for stockpiling, truck loading, backfilling, and general earthmoving. Caterpillar equipped the model with a diesel engine, hydrostatic drive, and operator cab features intended for productivity and visibility. As a crawler loader, the 973K is valued for stability, flotation, and pushing power in demanding ground conditions.
