The Caterpillar 306 is a compact mini excavator designed for digging, trenching, grading, and utility work in confined job sites. It is part of Caterpillar's small excavator lineup and is commonly used in landscaping, construction, municipal maintenance, and site preparation. The 306 typically features a compact tail swing design, hydraulic versatility, and a cab or canopy configuration depending on specification. Its size allows transport between jobsites with standard trailers in many regions. The model is known for combining maneuverability, operator visibility, and attachment compatibility for tasks requiring precision in limited-access areas.
