The Caterpillar 308 is a compact mini excavator designed for digging, trenching, grading, and utility work in confined jobsite conditions. It is part of Caterpillar's small excavator lineup and is commonly used in landscaping, construction, municipal maintenance, and site preparation. The 308 typically features a reduced tail swing design, hydraulic versatility, and compatibility with a range of buckets and attachments. Its size allows transport between jobsites while maintaining digging performance for small to medium earthmoving tasks. The Caterpillar 308 is recognized for maneuverability, operator visibility, and efficient operation in tight spaces where larger excavators cannot work effectively.
