Educational sessions during the trip included legislative and legal issues involving construction, construction of new highway bridges and a highway between Florence and Milan, and the economic vitality of the Lake Como region as it relates to maritime transportation.
The group visited Pisa, Siena and Lucca, an ancient Roman city, while in the Florence area. Attendees also participated in a visit to the Castello di Verranzano Winery where they were treated to lunch and wine tasting. As the group traveled to Lake Como, it visited the city of Bologna and while at Lake Como, it visited Milan, Bellagio and Lugano, Switzerland.
