The Utility and Transportation Contractors Association (UTCA) has completed plans for its 38th anniversary convention. The convention scheduled for Sept. 18 to 21, 2003, at the Tropicana Hotel and Casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
This year’s convention luncheon keynote speaker is Ambassador Richard Butler who was chief U.N. Weapons Inspector for Iraq during the 1990s. Prior to his service as a weapons inspector, he served as the Australian Ambassador to the United Nations.
The UTCA convention will include the presentation of the Annual Construction Safety Awards; Contractor and Associate Member of the Year awards; and discussions of transportation, water and sewer construction funding at the federal level.
The convention also will include an exhibit involving approximately 120 firms that provide goods and services to the industry.
This event is expected to attract 1,300 industry representatives from throughout the region. However, as of early June, a few exhibit spaces were still available for those interested in participating.
