Wacker Neuson has combined a popular plate design with a larger exciter to offer a new compact and powerful reversible plate package. Two new models, BPU 3750A and DPU 3750H, feature the company’s integrated wheel design plus deliver 8,317 lbs. (37 kN) of centrifugal force.

The BPU 3750A weighs 529 lbs. (240 kg) and is powered by a 9-hp (6.7 kW) Honda engine. The DPU 3750H weighs 545 lbs. (247 kg) and is powered by a 7.2-hp (5.3 kW) Hatz diesel engine. The high forward and reverse travel speed of 88.6 ft. (27 m) per minute combined with the high compaction force offer enhanced compaction results even on difficult surfaces. Wacker Neuson’s integrated wheel set is designed for easy and efficient maneuverability around the construction site, showroom and shop floor, according to the manufacturer.

The simple design offers a single lever directional control that provide for easy operation and an adjustable guide handle can be locked into the vertical position for easy transportation and storage. The specially designed shockmount system offers a virtually vibration free guide handle for increased operator comfort and reduced hand-arm vibration. The heavy-duty frame features a central lifting point for easy on/off loading and placement of plate into trenches.

Wacker Neuson’s new BPU 3750A and DPU 3750H reversible plates are especially effective on cohesive soils in narrow trenches as a result of the small overall size and high compaction force. They also are ideal for the compaction of backfill material near foundations and flatwork sub base and paths such as side walks, driveways and patios. By adding an optional paving pad, these plates are practical for the compaction of paving stones.
