The year 2012 is a landmark one for Walsh Equipment Inc. as it celebrates its 80th year in business and the opening of its second store located in central Pennsylvania. A full line construction and heavy equipment dealer headquartered in Prospect, Pa., the company is the authorized dealer of JCB Equipment, LeeBoy, Rosco, Massey Ferguson, Schwarze, J&J Truck Bodies, Tiger Mowers, Western Plows, and more, covering 23 counties in western and central Pennsylvania. Walsh Equipment Inc. was founded in 1932 by Philip Walsh, and is now managed by his son, Mike Walsh and grandson, Charlie Walsh.

Walsh Equipment’s new store is located at 2350 Munster Rd. in Lilly, Pa. The newly constructed building is situated on a six-acre yard and includes three service bays and a parts counter with stocking capacity for $1 million in parts inventory.

According to Charlie Walsh, the new store provides customers in the area with greater access to parts pick up, quick service and personal attention. The new store employs two parts counter people, two sales representatives and four service technicians.

To celebrate the new store’s opening and spend some time with customers, Walsh Equipment held an open house at the new store on May 24. Manufacturer representatives from many of Walsh Equipment’s product lines were on hand to lend their expertise regarding the many pieces of equipment on display. JCB was well represented with several factory representatives and a performance by JCB’s World Famous Dancing Diggers.

Refreshments were provided and door prizes awarded to round out the day for the crowd of approximately 400 of Walsh Equipment’s customers.
