Whayne Supply Company held its Demonstration & Field Days at three of its locations during the month of June. The event, which featured the latest Caterpillar equipment featuring Cat AccuGrade technology and showcasing SITECH Trimble products, kicked off June 3 and 4 at the Evansville, Ind., location. Events also were held at the Louisville, Ky., location on June 10 and 11 and the Lexington, Ky., facility on June 17 and 18.

Area contractors were invited to see demonstrations of equipment in operation, treated to lunch and able to win a pair of tickets to a NASCAR Sprint Cup Race at the Kentucky Speedway in Sparta, Ky. Whayne Supply Company representatives, along with Caterpillar and SITECH Mid-South representatives were on hand at each event to offer their expertise to attendees.

Established in 1913 and headquartered in Louisville, Ky., Whayne Supply Company is one of the oldest and largest Caterpillar dealerships in the country. The company has eight full-service branch locations in Kentucky, including Ashland, Bowling Green, Corbin, Hazard, Lexington, Paducah and Pikeville, as well as the full-service branch in Evansville, Ind.

SITECH Mid-South is the authorized Trimble dealer serving Arkansas, Kentucky and Tennessee along with southwestern Indiana and northern Mississippi. The company provides advanced job site positioning technology solutions ranging from machine control and software to asset management.

There were six equipment stations set up in the demonstration area. Highlights of the equipment displays included the new Caterpillar D8T with an AccuGrade dual antenna GPS-based grade control system, a Caterpillar 120M motorgrader with AccuGrade dual GPS full 3D control system, and a Caterpillar 320D hydraulic excavator with Trimble GCS Flex (a flexible grade control for excavators).
