United Way of New York City announced that William Flemming, president and CEO of Skanska USA Building Inc., has joined its board of directors. At Skanska, Flemming is responsible for the company’s overall management and operations throughout the United States. He also is a member of the Skanska USA Civil board and is the sponsor of Skanska’s National Green Council, promoting environmentally responsible construction. He is active in the Design Build Institute of America and previously served on the board as vice chairman.

“I am excited to take an active role on the board of one of the nation’s most well-recognized and important organizations,” said Flemming. “United Way of NYC has a positive impact on so many New Yorkers’ lives, and I look forward to contributing to their work in the years to come.”

Flemming is a member of the International Society of Pharmaceutical Engineers (ISPE) and has served as an active board member of Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) for several years.
