The Williams Company has received an Honor Award from the Austin Chapter of the American Institute of Architects for its restoration of the Presidio County Courthouse, built in 1886.

The firm also received the 2002 Preservation Award from the Texas Downtown Association for its restoration and adaptive use of the historic Santa Fe Depot, built in 1910 in Temple, TX.

The Williams Company, founded in 1983 by Kim Williams, has been involved in many regional, state, and international historic landmark projects. Among local projects, Williams restored the General Land Office building (now the State Capitol Visitor Center), and the Austin State Hospital Administration building.

The firm also executed historically sensitive new design projects, such as the Fredericksburg, TX, city hall and fire station, and downtown projects in Conroe, Huntsville and Mason.

Political events of the 1980s and 90s led Kim Williams to Eastern Europe, where he worked with Baird-Williams Construction Co. Ltd. of Temple, TX, on a major business center restoration and development in historic Old Town Centre of Tallinn, Estonia.

The team was among the first American architecture and construction partnerships working in that region of the Soviet Union.

The firm is currently engaged in the restoration of several historic Texas county courthouses in Milam, Goliad, Lavaca and Jeff Davis Counties.
