(3 by 3.6 m) F-Class machines in tandem offers many benefits, including cleaner operation, less maintenance and longer life for the structure that houses them when compared to other units on the market, according to the manufacturer.

Large vibrating screens operate horizontally, which requires force and results in more wear. By comparison, W.S. Tyler’s smaller F-Class units run at a 15- to 25-degree incline. Aside from increasing screening efficiency and reducing blinding and pegging, inclined machines require lower g-force, which is easier on machine components.
In comparison to units larger than 10 by 24 ft., running the tandem F-Class configuration is a less expensive option both in terms of initial purchase price and maintenance and repair. First, large units require more robust construction due to the incredible stresses they endure when processing larger loads. Longer side plates are weaker than shorter ones, which leads to more opportunity for damage. Further, the cost of replacing a large machine exceeds the cost of replacing a single module from the tandem set-up. Therefore, operating two smaller units in tandem is a more durable, efficient option, according to the manufacturer.
The F-Class is an ideal vibrating machine to use in a tandem configuration. The machine features four-bearing technology and counterbalance weights to cancel the forces generated by the body, so it produces minimal structural vibration. The advanced eccentric shaft, which is supported by four high-performance, double spherical roller bearings, creates a constant positive stroke that handles material volume spikes without losing momentum.
In addition, the continual circular screening action produces a constant, optimized g-force. This minimizes blinding and pegging and maximizes screening efficiency, which makes the F-Class an effective solution in both wet and dry applications. The unit also is ideal for screening situations that require consistent, load-independent performance at a constant g-force in all operational modes.
The F-Class scalps and classifies ores, minerals, stones, sand and gravel. It processes as much as 1,200 tons (1,088 t) per hour while providing fast, accurate sizing. In addition to traditional screening, the F-Class often is used before primary crushers to screen out fines and eliminate crusher wear. It precisely screens material from 20 mesh to 6 in. (15 cm).
All F-Class vibrating screens undergo extensive testing, inspections and vibration analysis prior to shipping. During commissioning on site, W.S. Tyler tests the screen again to make sure it achieves optimal performance within the customer’s specific operation and performance targets.
