Clark Jeffers of Jeffers Sand and Gravel, Colebrook, N.H., made some time in his hectic schedule to visit Yoder & Frey’s live public auction in Bow, N.H. While the auction continued, Roy Grant of Grant Construction, Lyndonville, Vt., found a great place to kick up his feet, relax and get away from the mud for a moment in a 2001 Caterpillar 315CL excavator. Steve Cole (in cab) of E.D. Swett Company, Concord, N.H., finds a comfortable seat to chat with Rick Belanger of Ponderosa Salvage, Epsom, N.H. Tom Keenan (L) and Hank Hanley of Keenan Equipment Company, Peterborough, N.H., gladly oblige to a photo-op during the sale. Tom Welch of KCC Excavation, Wilmington, Mass., is either checking which way the way the wind is blowing or is raising a finger to place a winning bid. Clay Christie of R.W. McCreedy, Jefferson, N.H., came dressed and ready to conquer the rain and mud. Bidders gather around the Yoder & Frey auctioneer vehicle as it moves from item to item. Dan Benoit of Dan Service Center, Lancaster, N.H., isn’t afraid of heights as he looks at the engine of this Caterpillar 312BL excavator. This father and son duo operates Copp Equipment in Gray, Maine, when they aren’t attending auctions looking for additional pieces of used equipment to sell. Elvin Copp (L) and Randy Copp. Excavators of all types and sizes filled the lot at Yoder & Frey’s Annual Spring Absolute Auction. Twelve-year-old Michael Audet from Burrillville, R.I., enjoys attending auctions with his father. He especially likes the preview when he gets to test out the machines, including this 2001 Caterpillar 315CL excavator. Peter Clark (L), owner of Yoder and Frey Auctioneers Inc., and Ron Kreis, auctioneer, sit up high in the auction vehicle overlooking the equipment and the buyers. Ray Phillips (L) and Dan Lang are from Keene, N.H., and work at DA Brothers Contractors, in addition to working as full-time firefighters.

Annual Spring Absolute Auction May 19 in Bow, N.H.

The sale was held for Paragon Construction, which recently decided to go out of business. Other area contractors also provided equipment.

Bidders chose from a variety of equipment, including crawler tractors, excavators, mini-excavators, skid steers, rollers, compactors, trucks, trailers and stone and trench boxes.
