On August 29 the Associated General Contractors of Minnesota held its 17th annual sporting clays fundraiser at the Minnesota Horse & Hunt Club for scholarships awarded by the AGC of Minnesota Foundation. The event was attended by 162 shooters. Proceeds from the raffle, silent auction, and stool pigeon tickets support students enrolled in construction-related programs at Midwest postsecondary schools.

The AGC of Minnesota awarded the 2016 to 2017 student scholarships at the event, to the following students: Davis Allen, construction management, U of M, Twin Cities; Amanda Comstock, construction management, MSU, Mankato; Steven Dueck, construction management, MSU, Moorhead; Kaela Fahey, construction management, Dunwoody; Brittany Jurrens, civil engineering, U of M, Duluth; Steele Spilde, electrical technology, MSU, Moorhead; and Joelle Struthers, construction management, MSU, Mankato. A total of 23 applications were received, reviewed and ranked. The process for the 2017 to 2018 scholarships will begin in early 2017.
