AMEC, The Fordham Co. Team Up to Build Chicago Luxury Condominium Tower

- National Edition

Construction of The Pinnacle, a 49-story luxury residential tower, is now underway at 21 East Huron Street in Chicago, the building team announced on Oct. 21.

The Pinnacle project marks the second consecutive collaboration between residential development company The Fordham Co. and construction management firm AMEC. The two companies also are on the development team for The Fordham, a 50-story luxury residential high-rise now under construction at 25 East Superior Street in Chicago. Lucien LaGrange and Associates is the architect for The Pinnacle.

Scheduled for completion in February 2005, The Pinnacle will have 213 condominium units, including eight penthouses. Features of the luxury structure include a classical ornate building base, a cast-in-place concrete structure, a limestone retail base facade, a precast concrete parking structure facade and a glass curtainwall with exposed concrete columns. The building is currently 50 percent pre-sold and units are selling at a strong pace.

Among the Pinnacle’s many planned amenities are an outdoor garden terrace and sundeck, a hospitality suite with a wrap-around terrace on the 43rd floor, an indoor swimming pool and health club, a private theater/entertainment center, a private wine cellar and lounge, and a business center with conference facilities.

The AMEC Central Region Office, based in Chicago, has more than 140 employees and is one of eight full-service offices operated by the New York- based Construction Management group of AMEC.
