Berlon Industries has introduced a heavy duty version of its extended lip skid steer bucket to meet the needs of construction companies. These attachments are available in four widths offering heaped capacity of up to 30 cu. ft. (.85 cu m).
“Construction companies are using larger track machines and skid loaders that have greater horsepower,” said Mike Ebben, president of Berlon Industries. “Our new heavy duty bucket is designed to let those companies operate the bigger machines in the most productive manner.”
The heavy duty extended lip bucket is built with quarter-inch steel and fitted with a heavy duty dimple plate that makes the floor five times stronger than floors with wear bars under the bucket. Like all Berlon Strong buckets, this new model has a fully welded body that enhances structural strength, and is double reinforced in critical areas, according to the manufacturer.
“Operators of larger machines will find this new heavy duty bucket stands up to the strenuous use common on construction sites and in company yards,” Ebben said. “The bucket will live up to the Berlon Strong brand name, based on its design and solid construction.”
The heavy duty extended lip bucket is 23½ in. (60 cm) tall, 36 in. (91 cm) deep, and available in widths of 72, 78, 84 and 90 in. (183, 198, 213 and 228 cm). Heaped capacities of the buckets are 24 CF for the 72-in.-wide model, 26 CF for the 78-in.-wide model, 28 CF for the 84-in.-wide model, and 30 CF for the 90-in.-wide model.
Features include a 3/4 x 6-in. (1.9 by 15 cm) weld-on cutting edge with holes, 3/8 x 3-in. (.95 by 7.6 cm) beveled side cutting edges and a radius kick-up plate to prevent material buildup and to add strength.
The bucket comes with a heavy duty universal mounting plate for skid steers and loaders.
Options for the new bucket include weld-on teeth, bolt-on cutting edge, bolt-on rake tooth edge, bolt-on tooth bar, or bolt-on tooth bar over bolt-on cutting edge.
The new bucket, Berlon’s Model BELHD, is available from Berlon dealers throughout the Midwest and northern plains and from online retailers.
