Blanchard Power Systems recently announced a new partnership with STA, a division of Shiptech America LLC for the distribution of Caterpillar’s 8kW to 200kW generator set line.

STA, based in North Charleston, SC, will serve seven Lowcountry, SC, counties: Charleston, Beaufort, Berkeley, Dorchester, Jasper, Hampton and Colleton. STA will concentrate on the sale of generator sets, related items and parts and service to the private sector, while Blanchard will focus on the public business.

Caterpillar’s smaller line of generator sets range in size from 10.8 to 270 hp (8 to 200 kW) and are designed, engineered and manufactured for optimal performance at an ISO 9001 Caterpillar facility. Available in prime power and standby configurations and fueled by diesel, natural gas or propane, the product line is recognized for reliability and dependability worldwide.

Blanchard Power Systems Sales Manager Darren Carter, cited STA’s experience as the primary reason for the partnership.

“Their reputation and experience in maintaining industrial equipment is what drew us to STA. It’s a good marriage; they needed a line of quality generators, and we needed a retail outlet in the Lowcountry market,” Carter said.

STA Sales Manager, Shep Rogers is excited about the partnership.

“STA is privileged to be associated with two great companies such as Blanchard Machinery and Caterpillar. Blanchard is a name well known in the state of South Carolina, and Caterpillar is a name known worldwide,” Rogers said. “This association shows the support both companies have for small businesses.”

Located on the former Charleston Naval Shipyard property, STA is a division of Shiptech America LLC. Shiptech was originally started as a maintenance and repair company for customers such Detyens Shipyard and CMMC. The company has since expanded its generator, crane and hangar door maintenance work beyond the former Naval Base property to federal, state and private agencies for such work.
