Bouygues Construction has acquired North Carolina-based Vannoy Construction, expanding its presence in the United States and strengthening its position in the fast-growing southeastern market. The acquisition was finalized June 30, 2026, and is part of Bouygues Construction's broader international growth strategy.
Based in Charlotte, N.C., Vannoy Construction is one of the Southeast's leading general contractors. In 2025, the company built a strong backlog of work across key sectors, including health care, education, manufacturing and retail.
Bouygues Construction said the acquisition expands its footprint in a region experiencing sustained population and economic growth, driving demand for infrastructure, health care facilities, educational buildings, industrial projects and data centers. The company also expects the acquisition to create opportunities for collaboration with sister companies Equans and Colas, which already operate in the Southeast.
The acquisition builds on Bouygues Construction's existing United States portfolio, which includes projects in Florida, Rhode Island and Washington, D.C.
Founded in 1952 by Jim and Wilma Vannoy in Jefferson, N.C., Vannoy Construction has grown into a regional contractor with seven offices serving North Carolina, South Carolina and Virginia. The company performs work for both public and private clients on large-scale construction projects.
Bouygues Construction said Vannoy will benefit from access to its engineering expertise, experience delivering complex projects and international network while maintaining the qualities that have contributed to the company's success, including its family heritage, client relationships and existing leadership team.
"This acquisition is a landmark in strengthening our operations in the United States," said Pierre-Éric Saint-André, chief executive officer of Bouygues Construction. "It makes perfect sense, and I am in no doubt that it will help unlock Vannoy Construction's growth potential and add resilience to Bouygues Construction's growth model in mature economies."
Saint-André added that the companies share a long-term vision, a commitment to project delivery and strong relationships with clients and partners, positioning them for continued growth together.
Mark Vannoy, president of Vannoy Construction, described the acquisition as "an evolution, not a break with the past."
He said the company will continue operating under its existing brand with the same management team and culture while gaining additional resources to support future growth.
"Our employees, our clients, and our partners can count on continuity above all else," Vannoy said. "With the support of Bouygues Construction, we have no doubt that Vannoy Construction will now have everything it needs to keep growing and to write a new chapter in its history."
