The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM), headquartered in Bloomfield Hills, will present its CAM Expo 2009 at the Rock Financial Showplace in Novi, on Feb. 4 and 5, 2009.
Show hours are from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Feb. 4 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Feb. 5.
This will be the 25th anniversary of the CAM Expo, which began in 1985. CAM Expo is Michigan’s premier showcase for new construction products, equipment, tools and services.
The CAM 123rd Annual Meeting will take place on the first day of CAM Expo, Feb. 4, beginning at 11:30 a.m. This luncheon hosts CAM members and gives an up-to-date presentation on the status of all CAM departments, as well as the “changing of the guard” of the CAM board of directors. This year’s annual meeting will also feature guest speaker John Austin, executive director of the New Economy Initiative for Southeast Michigan (NEI) — a multi-year, multi-million dollar effort on the part of Michigan and national foundations to support the transformation of the southeast Michigan economy.
New to CAM Expo 2009 will be a Green Building Products Showcase, an area dedicated to exhibitors with environmentally friendly building products or services. Also new to the show will be a Contractors’ Showcase and Reception, a special area for general contracting firms to display their services. This Contractors’ Showcase and Reception will take place immediately following the CAM Magazine Special Issue Awards Ceremony on Feb. 5, which begins at 11:30 am.
For the first time, CAM Magazine will be presenting the 2008 Green Building of the Year Awards.
CAMTEC, the training and education division of CAM, will sponsor several classes during both days of the expo. A wide variety of classes will be offered in the areas of MIOSHA, LEED, Employment Law, Construction Safety, and Miss Dig, among many others.
