CAM to Host Tradeshow, Annual Meeting in Feb. ’15

This free, one-day tradeshow will be attended by commercial construction owners, contractors, suppliers, architects and engineers.

The Construction Association of Michigan (CAM), Bloomfield Hills, has announced that its Michigan Construction & Design Tradeshow will be held for the fifth consecutive year at MotorCity Casino Hotel in Detroit. The show will take place on Feb. 4 from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This free, one-day event will be attended by commercial construction owners, contractors, suppliers, architects and engineers.

The Michigan Construction & Design Tradeshow also will host the CAM 129th Annual Meeting — by invitation only — from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., inside Sound Board at MotorCity Casino Hotel.

This year’s keynote speaker is Steve Marquardt, vice president of Olympia Development of Michigan (ODM). Marquardt is leading ODM’s efforts in the $650 million catalyst development project that will include residential, retail and office facilities, in conjunction with an events and entertainment center that will be home to the Detroit Red Wings.

The CAM Annual Meeting also will include the association’s annual report; the changing of the guard of CAM’s board of directors; the CAM Magazine Special Issue Awards; and the Project of the Year 2014 Award.

Throughout the day, CAMTEC will offer training and education seminars, including: structure and savings with masonry; operable partition learn session; stone repair and masonry cleaning simplified; and virtual design and construction (VDC).
